TRANSPORTATION
To get to most regions in Costa Rica, you have to start from San Jose, which is the central hub of the public transport system. It is often easier to go to one region and then return to San Jose in order to find transportation to another area.
Public transportation is quite good and you can get buses to almost any part of the country.
Car rentals are popular because cars can get you to places that are not accessible by public transportation. Another alternative means of travel is to fly.
